Meet Sven – More Than Just a Skipper

When guests step aboard Feenja, they are not joining a commercial charter operation. They are joining Sven on a yacht that has been part of a remarkable journey across Europe and into a new life in Sardinia.

Sven has been sailing for most of his life.

Growing up in Berlin, he started sailing as a young boy and quickly developed a passion for the water. Over the years, that passion became a lifelong pursuit, taking him across the Baltic Sea, the North Sea and eventually the Mediterranean.

Today, he has accumulated more than 20,000 nautical miles of practical sailing experience.

His sailing background is diverse. He has sailed and worked on a wide range of yachts, carried out yacht deliveries, instructed crews, coached aspiring skippers and spent countless hours helping sailors gain confidence in handling their boats safely and independently.

His qualifications include the German SBF See and Binnen licences as well as the SKS certificate. However, what truly defines Sven is not a piece of paper, but decades of real-world experience at sea.

Guests often describe him as calm, patient and reassuring.

Whether the sea is flat calm or a little more lively, Sven brings the same relaxed approach on board. Safety always comes first, but without taking away the enjoyment and freedom that make sailing so special.

His philosophy is simple:

Together with his partner Nancy, he made the decision to bring Feenja to Sardinia and build a new life around the sea. The journey itself became an adventure: transporting the yacht from Germany, overcoming setbacks, repairing damage and finally sailing her to her new home in the Mediterranean.

That story is now part of every trip aboard Feenja.
